Hello everyone, Birthday today & I'm on DA lol, wow.

Anyways, here is a picture of one of my previous finished projects for my Color Theory class. This was our final project, a wine label using a design of our major. And so, as I'm in Animation, I decided to use one of my ideas that I've wanted to do but never did, the glorious sky whale :D

So the project was supposed to be using any one of the color harmonies, & done using any medium except for digital. So I did a tetrad, & used acrylic paint for the background & prisma color pencils for the whale & the butterfly fish. The animals on there are also pasted on top of the background, something I'm very fond of doing being it makes the image & characters just pop out more.

Everyone in my class adored it, & it was so good that the teacher kept it to see if it could potentially land on display the next quarter, & the class was actually hoping it did. This made it my third piece in the quarter to be kept by the teacher (except to other two were from Design class) to see if it will be on display; it didn't :/

BUT the other two DID end up on display, which made me very happy. I never expected that in my first full quarter to have one of my pieces considered to be put for display, let alone 3.

By the way, the Tetrad colors are Purple & Yellow, & Green & red.

So, as I promised in the description of the previous series of WIPs that had the Sky whale in it [link], a description of the creature itself:

The glorious sky whale is a magnificent being that is rarely seen by humans & rumored to never land on the Earth's surface. It flies using a special gland within it's body while it uses it multiple fins/flippers to navigate. Over the eons, many whales have adapted their bodies to be able to learn to flie from the sea, & thus this amazing evolution happened, allowing these being to fly endlessly, returning to the sea to eat.

They are most well known for creating oxygen; like a plant, the sky whale breathes in carbon dioxide & exhales fresh clean air from the filters located on the sides of their heads. During mating season, the males courts the female doing a very elegant dance for her, while creating various shapes & forms with the clouds around it. When they partner up, they dance together for an entire two days & mate. The females give birth in the warm water, where the calf learns to swim in order to have it's floating gland develop in the process in order to be able to fly on it's own. The calf takes half a year to be able to fly.

hope you guys like it :)
